During Spring Break I was driving through Houston and I saw a huge cross on the side of a building. I thought to myself “That is just wrong.” To me, Christian art is something that we have way too much of. Paintings, sculptures, murals, and other works don’t demonstrate the greatness of God. Far from it. Works of art don’t feed the hungry or shelter the homeless or care for those hated by society. They only serve to glorify the artist and the idea it represents. If a Christian wants to depict God in all His glory, they can do so much more effectively by actually doing what God called them to do.
